Great Music and Delicious Food - Couldn't Get Better than This

So I know that the name of the blog suggests that I will be writing about brunches in Rochester but I just cannot skip on sharing with you... I got lucky enough to spend 4 days down in New Orleans, LA to celebrate my birthday with the perfect people for this trip. This place is OUTRAGEOUSLY AMAZING, it is one of the greatest cities I have ever been to. I know that you might have heard that before about other cities but this is for real!

There are so many things about NOLA that are mezmerizing but let's focus on two of them - music and food, mostly food though :)

Music is everywhere, literally everywhere. Musicians around every corner, live performances in every club, bar, restaurant, and cafe. It is crazy how many talented people there are at one place.

Be sure to check out the band Buku Broux. I got to listen to them acouple of nights live at Jackson Square in the French Quarter. As a friend of mine said: their music is "cosmic", meaning out of this world, people! Take the time and listen to them, you can find all of their albums on Spotify.

Now about the food - crazy stuff! I realize I may be using quite a lot of superlatives in this post but I stand behind every one of them.

Crawfish, oysters, catfish, crabs...any seafood you can think of, you can have it. Jambalaya, Gumbo, and Po-boy, are only a few of the NOLA signature dishes. If you want to try the local cocktails, order the Hurricane and the Hand Grenade. Keep in mind they are very sugary drinks, so if you are not a fan of sweet cocktails maybe you should go for something else.

This to the left is my Airbnb host's hot sauce collection - quite impressive. Hot sauce is BIG in New Orleans. There are stores selling only hot sauces and hot spices. Almost every dish is spicy, so be aware of that, especially if you are not much into it. But if you are - that's the place to be ;)

So let's sum up - great music and fantastic food, both in large quantities! And history. Very rich history which takes you to another (better) world.

If you get a chance, please visit NOLA. I cannot imagine someone not enjoying it. You will not regret it, I promise!
