Park Ave is one of the most famous and lively spots in our Flower City. Down this colorful street there is a former barber shop, which in 1975 Charlie Corrado turned into a restaurant. Since then the place has had only three owners.

The walls are still covered with portraits of women by the artist Ramon Santiago, who is one of the ealiest patrons of this legendary place.

Today The Frog Pond is proud of being recognized for Rochester's Best Brunch, Best Burger, Best American and Best of Park Avenue.

Of course, with the fame comes a long line on a Saturday morning... but the staff handles it very well. Although there were two parties before us, we were seated in no longer than 10 minutes.

The menu has all the necessary items for a proper brunch: eggs Benedict (my favorite), omelets, pancakes and waffles. And beautiful colorful mimosas! :)

Our choices were: Crab Cake Benedict ($11.95) and Gitsis Omelet ($7.95).

The omelet was tasty, although it was a little underseasoned. The combination of eggs Benedict and crab cakes was fantastic, I only wish they had added a side dish on the plate. I believe these were my first crab Benedicts but now they are very high on my "Best Benedicts List". Yum!!!

What is so lovely about The Frog Pond is its rich history which can be told by the photographs covering one of of the walls in the restaurant :)

It is really a nice place and I would recommend it if you want go get some food in the heart of Rochester. Go and take a dip in the The Frog Pond!
